The Ministry of Science and Technology has sent a letter to the Guangdong provincial government to support Guangzhou in building a national pilot zone for next-generation artificial intelligence innovation and development. The letter pointed out that the construction of the pilot zone should focus on the major national strategies and the economic and social development needs of Guangzhou, explore new paths and mechanisms for the development of the new generation of artificial intelligence, form replicable and generalizable experience, and lead the development of smart economy and smart society in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by demonstration.
The Ministry of Science and Technology made it clear that Guangzhou should give full play to its advantages in AI science and education resources, application scenarios and infrastructure, establish a high-level research and development system, focus on key areas such as healthcare, high-end manufacturing and automobile transportation, strengthen technology integration and fusion application, and enhance industrial intelligence and international competitiveness.
At the same time, we will improve the system of policies and regulations to build a high-level artificial intelligence open and innovative ecology. We need to carry out trials on artificial intelligence policies, and conduct pilot trials on data opening and sharing, collaborative innovation between industry, universities, research and application, and agglomeration of high-end factors. We will carry out experiments on artificial intelligence and explore new models of intelligent social governance. We will implement the new generation of artificial intelligence governance principles and strengthen the construction of artificial intelligence ethics.
